Condition:

The sculpture is in good condition. Occasionally, minimal soilings can be found on the figure. The upper apron of the base shows traces of wear like smaller scratches and blemishes. The dimensions, including the base are 67 x 43.5 x 14 cm.



Albert Ricken (born 1970)

The sculptor Albert Ricken was first trained as a pottery maker from 1987-89 and worked in various ceramic workshops in Potsdam and Berlin. In 1999 he attended the Art Academy Burg Giebichenstein/Halle as a visiting student and studied sculpture in the class of Bernd Göbel. From 1997-2003 he studied at the Art Academy Berlin-Weissensee under Berndt Wilde whose master student he became. Ricken often finds the themes for his sculptures incidentally from his environment such as family albums. (bde)

Die Reliefplastik ist in gutem Zustand. Vereinzelt finden sich auf der Figur minimale Verschmutzungen. Die Steckzarge des Sockels zeigt Gebrauchsspuren wie kleinere Kratzer und Fehlstellen. Die Maße, inklusive des Sockels liegen bei 67 x 43,5 x 14 cm.

Der Bildhauer Albert Ricken absolvierte zunächst von 1987-89 eine Ausbildung zum Scheibentöpfer und war in verschiedenen Keramikwerkstätten in Potsdam und Berlin tätig. 1999 ging er für ein Gaststudium an die Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein/Halle in die Bildhauerklasse von Bernd Göbel. Von 1997-2003 studierte er an der Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee bei Berndt Wilde, dessen Meisterschüler er wurde. Die Motive für seine Skulpturen findet der Künstler in seinem Umfeld, wie etwa in Familienalben, meist eher zufällig. (bde)
