Toni Stadler (1888-1982)

Toni Stadler was born the 5th of September 1888 as son of the landscape painter Anton von Stadler in Munich. From 1906 on he studied at the School of Arts and Crafts Munich and from 1909 on at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. His teachers were Hermann Hahn as well as Aristide Maillol from 1927 onwards in Paris. In 1942 he got a professorship at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. Afterwards he held a professorship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and was appointed in 1953 to vice president. Toni Stadler took part at several documenta.

Am 5. September 1888 wurde Toni Stadler als Sohn des Landschaftsmalers Anton von Stadler in München geboren. Ab 1906 studierte er an der Kunstgewerbeschule München und ab 1909 an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste, München. Seine Lehrer waren Hermann Hahn sowie ab 1927 in Paris Aristide Maillol. 1942 erhielt er eine Professur an der Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. Danach hatte er eine Professur an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München inne und wurde dort 1953 zum Vizepräsidenten ernannt. Toni Stadler nahm auch an mehreren documenta teil.
