André de Denies became active in Hollywood in 1944 and soon discovered his passion for nude photography. The present Giclée print is a characteristic example of his artistic output and reveals a young nude girl posing on a marble base. The delicate play of light and shadows is emphasized by the choice of a black and white film.
Condition:
The print is in mint condition. The image size is 48.2 x 38.2 cm, the size of the sheet is 50.7 x 40.7 cm. The backside of the frame reveals a certificate of authenticity signed by the editor. The framed overall dimensions are 75.5 x 64.5 cm.

André de Dienes began with his career as a photo journalist for the Associated Press in New York. In the following years he gradually turned towards fashion photography and worked for magazines such as Vogue and Life. Beside Marilyn Monroe, de Dienes also portrayed celebrities such as Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor, Henry Fonda, Shirley Temple and Fred Astaire. Additionally, he was very appreciated for his nude photographs, which were published in no less than 24 volumes in the United States. (cbo)
