Andre de Dienes met the 19 years old Norma Jean in 1945, shortly after he had moved to Hollywood to become a star photographer. He was soon active as one of her first photographers and, not surprisingly, as her romantic love affair. Their close relationship resulted in a mutually rewarding cooperation, as proven by numerous series of photographs. The present Giclée print shows Marilyn when posing with a beach towel above her head.

The print is in mint condition. The image size is 48 x 38 cm, the sheet measures 50.7 x 40.7 cm. With a certificate of authenticity by the edition One West Publishing, Beverly Hills, CA, signed by Chuck Murphy (for the estate)

André de Dienes, born as Andor György Ikafalvi-Dienes, in Tora, Hungary early discovered his interest in photography. After traveling throughout Europe in the year 1933, he settled down in Paris to study art. In the following years he gradually turned towards fashion photography, emigrated in 1938 to New York, where he worked for magazines such as ‘Vogue’ and ‘Life’. As a freelance photographer he was engaged by several motion picture studios and portrayed many stars and celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor, Henry Fonda, Shirley Temple and Fred Astaire.
