Very good condition
In her works Malerie Marder deliberately disregards the documentary functions of photography in favor of creating a more cinematic atmosphere, in which she explores mental dramas, sexual desires and thoughts on feminine nature as such. Marder almost exclusively shoots female nudes.
The diptychon was edited by Edition Schellmann Munich/New York in 45 copies.
Condition:
The Light Jet prints are in very good condition. The image size is 43.5 x 56 cm, the sizes of the Plexiglas are 50 x 60.5 cm.
Malerie Marder (b. 1971)
The American photographer Malerie Marder completed a Master of Fine Arts degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. In 2000, her works were presented in her first solo exhibition, which launched her exhibition activity worldwide, including presentations at Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Blain/Southern in London. Marder's artistic focus lays on the exploration of nude intimacy, mostly based on female models she finds among her friends and family members. Today, her works belong to numerous permanent collections such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne and the National Gallery of Art in Washington. The artist lives and works in Los Angeles. (cbo)
