Jean-Marc Bustamante, Algonquin, Color Serigraph, 2006
Serigraph in colors on transparent polyester
Presumably France, 2006
Jean-Marc Bustamante (b. 1952) – French photographer and representative of the French pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2003
Signed ‘J. M. Bustamante’ and numbered ‘16/24’
From the portfolio ‘Algonquin’
Image size: 40 x 60 cm; sheet size: 60 x 80 cm
Frame: 82 x 102 cm
Very good condition

The present serigraph in colors is a work of the 9-part portfolio ‘Algonquin’, created in 2006. The depiction of a single dancer on an illuminated dance floor seems to describe a particular social reality, but this impression is immediately counteracted by the sense of fiction that Bustamante successfully creates by his playful use of photography and print.

Condition:
The serigraph is in very good condition. The image measures 40 x 60 cm, the transparent polyester sheet is 60 x 80 cm. The framed dimensions are 82 x 102 cm.

Jean-Marc Bustamante (b. 1951)
Jean-Marc Bustamante was born in Toulouse in 1952. After studying business administration, the Frenchman discovered his passion for photography, when assisting the well-known photographer William Klein. In 1983, he met the sculptor Bernard Bazile with whom he exhibited three years under the name ‘Bazilebustamante’. Bustamante now teaches at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In his works, Bustamante combines the media of sculpture, painting and photography. His preferred medium is, however, still photography, in which he attempts to bring together the different media and thus to change our perception of them. Bustamante is primarily known for his color photographs with motifs from the suburbs of Barcelona. His works have been exhibited by renowned art dealers such as Thaddaeus Ropac, Paris, and Walter Storms, Munich. (cbo)

Signiert in Faserstift „J. M. Bustamante“ und nummeriert „16/24“
Aus der 9-teiligen Mappe „Algonquin“

Rahmen: 82 x 102 cm
Sehr guter Zustand

Zustand:
Die Serigrafie ist in sehr gutem Zustand. Die Darstellungsmaße sind 40 x 60 cm. Der transparente Darstellungsuntergrund misst 60 x 80 cm. Die Rahmenmaße belaufen sich auf 82 x 102 cm.
