André de Denies moved to Hollywood in 1944 and soon discovered his passion for outdoor nude photography. André de Dienes, born as Andor György Ikafalvi-Dienes, in Tora, Hungary early discovered his interest in photography. After traveling throughout Europe in the year 1933, he settled down in Paris to study art. In the following years he gradually turned towards fashion photography, emigrated in 1938 to New York, where he worked for magazines such as ‘Vogue’ and ‘Life’. As a freelance photographer he was engaged by several motion picture studios and portrayed many stars and celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor, Henry Fonda, Shirley Temple and Fred Astaire.
