The Giclée print is in very good condition. The image measures 48 x 38 cm, the sheet size is 50.8 x 40.5 cm. The frame is well-preserved and only shows a tiny material loss at the lower left. The framed overall dimensions are 75 x 65 cm. Verso the frame bears the certificate of authenticity by the edition One West Publishing, Beverly Hills, CA, signed by Chuck Murphy (for the estate)
André de Dienes (1913-1985)
André de Dienes began with his career as a photo journalist for the Associated Press in New York. In the following years he gradually turned towards fashion photography and worked for magazines such as Vogue and Life. Beside Marilyn Monroe, de Dienes also portrayed celebrities such as Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor, Henry Fonda, Shirley Temple and Fred Astaire. Additionally, he was very appreciated for his nude photographs, which were published in no less than 24 volumes in the United States. (cbo)
