Annie Leibovitz is famous for her creative photographic approach. In 2011 she was commissioned for the latest Disney ads shot with many celebrities transformed as Disney heroes. The present print reveals Olivia Wilde as the Evil Queen from Snow White and Alec Baldwin recreating the pivotal mirror scene.
The second print shows a photograph taken by Ellen von Unwerth (b. 1954), who portrayed the attractive Italian actress Monica Bellucci in a hotel floor. The picture was published in the Italian Glamour in 2012.
Condition:
Both works are in very good condition. The print by Leibovitz has an image size of 26.4 x 36 cm and a sheet size of 30.4 x 40 cm. The print by Ellen Unwerth has an image size of 38.7 x 25.7 cm and a sheet size of 40 x 30.5 cm.
Annie Leibovitz (b. 1949)
Annie Leibovitz is considered one of the most famous and best paid photographers worldwide. Her artistic career began at the San Francisco Art Institute, where she studied painting and photography, from 1967 to 1971. She was then active for the Rolling Stone magazine and became its chief photographer from 1973 to 1981. In the early 1980s Leibovitz decided to quit her position in favor of the Vanity Fair, where she was able to photograph many celebrities from politics, culture and economy. In 2013 she received the Spanish Prince of Asturias Award.
Ellen von Unwerth (b. 1954)
Ellen von Unwerth was born in Frankfurt am Main. She initially worked at the Circus Roncalli as an assistant to the knife thrower, until she was discovered as a model when walking down the street in Munich. But her interest in photography was gradually attracted, so that she finally decided to become a professional. Her photographic works have been published in many internationally well-established fashion magazines, including the American, Italian and British Vogue and Vanity Fair. Besides, she also created a number of editions of books. Ellen von Unwerth lives and works in Paris and New York, today. (cbo)
