This lithograph, which was created after a drawing by Picasso from 1961, shows a flying dove with a twig in its beak. The famous motif is executed in blue and green in a skillfully reduced and sweeping line that is typical for the artist.
The lithograph in colors is signed and dated lower right on the stone ‘Picasso 28.12.61’. The sheet is overall minor darkened and slightly foxmarked. There is a handling crease in the left margin. The condition overall is good. The frame is in good condition. The image measures 45.2 x 54.5 cm, the sheet 50.5 x 66 cm. The framed dimensions are 80 x 95 cm.
Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)
The Spanish painter, graphic artist and sculptor Pablo Picasso created a body of work of about 50,000 paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures and ceramics. He studied at the Royal Academy in Madrid and at the Art Academy in Barcelona, where his father taught. 1901 Picasso had his first exhibition in a gallery in Paris, followed by numerous international exhibitions. Two museums, the Museu Picasso in Barcelona and the Musée Picasso in Antibes Picasso's works were for his own lifetime established.
