Josef Felix Müller (born 1955)
The artist, born in the swiss town of Eggersriet, first completed a training as embroidery designer from 1971 to 1975. His artistic training took place autodidactic. The human body is the core theme of his works, which at times are so sexually charged that they once provoked a confiscation because of ‘obscene publication’ in 1988. Beside paintings, since 1981 also sculptures made of tree trunks, which the artist works on with ax and chainsaw, were formed as well as an extensive graphical work comprising woodcuts, etchings and Lithographs. Josef Felix Müller lives and works in St. Gallen, Switzerland. (nlu)
