War diaries and journals of historical importance written by Lieutenant Colonel F.L. Cubitt who served in the Norfolk Regiment during his long military career including both WW1 & WW2. In April 1917 as a newly appointed 2nd Lieutenant coming from Rugby School he went off to serve in the First World War, this was the start of his military career. In total there are 75 diaries and journals, his entire (mostly daily life) is written mainly in ink and in an excellent condition, starting in 1910 and ending in 1958 (some years are missing: 1911, 1912, 1915, 1922, 1926, 1944 & 1945). Although some of the diaries only have specific daily routines many are written in hardbacked books and go into a lot of detail especially during the Second World War. (Easily enough to write a book), all are contained in his metal strong box with original key
