Important Information

Due to the recent bout of fraudulent bidding in our sales, we have been forced to impose a new policy regarding payment for purchases of silver, jewellery, watch, coins and other high value items. We will now only accept payment for these items by bank transfer or by card payments or cash payments in person. With the exception of regular buyers known to us, we will no longer accept payment by card over the telephone or by cheque. This policy applies regardless of the invoice total. Thank you for your understanding.

Buyers Premium 20% inclusive of VAT

Lots purchased online with the-saleroom.com will attract an additional charge for this service in the sum of 3% of the hammer price plus VAT at the rate imposed.

Please remember that if you want to leave a commission bid or wish to bid by telephone, we need all instructions by Monday 6.30pm before sale (for both Tuesday and Wednesday sale days). All bidding instructions are subject to our usual terms and conditions (as viewed on our website), but bidding instructions received after Monday 6.30pm are most likely to be ignored/impossible for us to execute.

We require that all lots are paid for and cleared no later than two weeks after sale. We reserve the right to charge for storage if goods are left uncollected for more than two weeks after sale.

Whilst we do offer a packing service, all dispatch of goods is at buyer’s own risk and we cannot accept any liability for breakages or loss.

We recommend that buyers take out their own insurance to cover such eventualities.
