Scottish: Seaforth Highlanders (Ross-shire Buffs Duke of Albany’s) Officer’s shoulder belt plate circa 1881-1961.
A fine post war example. Bright gilt rectangular plate mounted with silvered Coronet, HRH Duke of Albany’s cypher, elephant, stag’s head cabossed and scroll inscribed “Seaforth Highlanders”. Reverse retains original fixings, comprising two hooks at the top and two studs at the bottom.
Seaforth Highlanders amalgamated with the QO Cameron Highlanders on 7th February 1961 to form the Queen’s Own Highlanders (Seaforth & Cameron)
