A good example. Bright gilt rectangular plate mounted with the silver Cross of St. Andrew. Mounted across the top arms of the cross, a scroll inscribed “In Veritate Religionis Confido” surmounted by the Royal Crest. Mounted on the centre of the cross, within a circlet inscribed “King’s Own Scottish Borderers”, Edinburgh Castle. Below the circlet, a tri-part scroll inscribed “Nisi Dominus Frustra”. Reverse retains original fixings, comprising two hooks at the top and two studs at the bottom. VGC
