Lord Nelson 1805 Bolton Trafalgar Medal.
A white metal example. The obverse bearing the bust of Nelson within the legend “Horatio Viscount Nelson KB, Duke of Bronte”; reverse bearing battle scene within the legend of Nelson’s famous signal “England Expects Every Man Will Do His Duty”; in the exergue “Trafalgar Oct 21 1805”. The edge impressed “FROM M BOLTON TO THE HEROES OF TRAFALGAR”. Now a pewter colour. Some age wear, possibly excavated. Drilled with a hole at the 12 o’clock position and with an improvised ribbon suspension.
