6th (Royal Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot Victorian Officer’s Albert pattern shako plate circa 1844-55.
A splendid rare rich gilt example. Crowned star, the principle points bearing honours; mounted on the star, a wreath half laurel and half oak. Within the wreath, a strap inscribed “Royal Warwickshire Regt.” with seeded gilt “6” to centre on burnished gilt domed ground. Across the top of the wreath a scroll inscribed “Peninsula”, scroll emerging from either side of the strap inscribed “Nivelle” “Pyrenees”. Mounted on the lowest point of the star; a Crowned Garter of shield shape bearing the Antelope in silver. Reverse complete with all three original loops. VGC
