A 54-Bore Flintlock Box-Lock Pocket Pistol Signed Archer, London, Late 18th Century With turn-off barrel, border engraved action signed in capitals over each side, trigger-guard, and figured flat-sided butt, private Birmingham proof marks; together with a percussion six-shot pepperbox revolver of small bore (old pitting overall, action defective, one barrel burst at the breech, grips missing), and sparsely engraved with foliate scrollwork, mid-19th century, Birmingham proof marks (2) 6.2 cm. barrel and 8 cm. barrels Footnotes: The maker is almost certainly Thomas Archer recorded in Birmingham between 1776 and 1857.
