Information

The buying premium is 15% inclusive on the hammer price. For example, if you buy something for £10 you will actually pay £11.50. All lots must be paid for on the day of the sale and taken away as soon as possible. We accept payment by debit or credit card and, of course, cash. There is a 2% surcharge if you pay by credit card. We will also accept payment via bank transfer from international buyers. We do not accept payment by cheque unless agreed in advance in writing. A storage fee may be charged if items are left for longer than seven days. We will ship items out to online/commission buyers but this will attract a charge of £5+ postage cost.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS - BUYING

• The buying premium is 18% inclusive on the hammer price. All lots must be paid for on the day of the sale and taken away unless agreed in advance and in writing with the auctioneer. We do not accept payment by cheque unless agreed in advance and in writing with the auctioneer. We do accept payment by debit or credit card and, of course, cash. There is a 2% surcharge if you pay by credit card. We will also accept payment by bank transfer.

• The sale catalogue is usually published online several days prior to the day of the auction. You may also have a copy sent to you by email – simply join our mailing list by contacting us at barnesauctioneers@btinternet.com. Copies of the sale catalogue are also available in the saleroom for £1.

• Descriptions and estimates are for guidance only: we do not accept any liability for either. We strongly recommend that you view a lot before bidding and must judge for yourself what an item is worth. Where an item is described as A/F (As Found) it means that we are aware of damage to an item, but the absence of A/F does not mean that we can guarantee an item is not damaged or repaired. Electrical goods are not PAT tested prior to sale and are disabled for use as decorative and/or collectable items only..

• Absentee bids may be made through the auctioneer who will bid on your behalf during the course of the sale. ONLINE BIDDING Barnes Auctioneers offer an online bidding service via the-saleroom.com for bidders who cannot attend the sale.

In completing the bidder registration on www.the-saleroom.com and providing your credit card details and unless alternative arrangements are agreed with Barnes Auctioneers :

1. authorise Barnes Auctioneers , if they so wish, to charge the credit card given in part or full payment, including all fees, for items successfully purchased in the auction via the-saleroom.com, and

2. confirm that you are authorised to provide these credit card details to Barnes Auctioneers through www.the-saleroom.com and agree that Barnes Auctioneers are entitled to ship the goods to the card holder name and card holder address provided in fulfilment of the sale.
