All shipping services provided, used or recommended by the Auctioneer are used at the buyers own risk. All shipping services used by the Auctioneer are subject to the service providers own Terms & Condition in relation to loss, damage & insurance.
The Auctioneer retains the right to decline to ship purchases deemed by the Auctioneer unsuitable for in-house shipping services due to fragility, high value, size or weight. The Auctioneer reserves the right to ship any purchase as separate packages if safety during transit requires it. The auctioneer also my decline to ship large or disparate multiple purchases unsuitale for posting.
Every effort is made to pack items safely & securely, but it must be accepted that the Auctioneer is not a professional packer so cannot be held responsible for or making any claim for damage or loss caused in transit. The Auctioneer recommends that buyers obtain their own insurance for damage or loss during shipping & reserves the right to refuse any claim for loss or damage in transit they consider false or dishonest.

1. BUYERS COMMISSION is 15% +VAT at 20% per lot. (the-saleroom.com add 4.95% +VAT commission per lot for their service.)
2. CONDITION REPORTS for detailed information must always be obtained before bidding & are unavailable on auction day.
3. CONDITION The absence from descriptions & images of minor faults, signs of age & use etc. does not imply the lot is perfect.
4. ALL ITEMS ARE PREVIOUSLY OWNED. It must not be assumed items are undamaged, complete or in working order.
5. IN-HOUSE SHIPPING is only available for items suitable for safe UK Royal Mail & Parcelforce posting.
6. SHIPPING FEES apply to cover packing costs & materials. Postage is charged at cost.
7. PAYMENT FOR PURCHASES is upon receipt of invoice by telephone by debit card or bank transfer.
8. LIVE ONLINE BIDDING we reserve the right to decline any registration by bidders with poor feedback or no buying record.
9. BY BIDDING buyers are entering a legally binding contract to pay for any lot. Non-payers will be blocked from future bidding.

BARBARA KIRK AUCTIONS SUMMARY OF CONDITIONS & TERMS OF BUSINESS FOR ONLINE BIDDERS. PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING.
By bidding on any lot, buyers are entering a contract to pay for any purchases. Non-paying buyers will be blocked from bidding at our auctions & negative feedback will be left to assist other auctioneers.
BUYERS COMMISSION:
Auctioneers commission is 15% +VAT plus the-saleroom.com commission 4.95% +VAT for their services.
CONDITION REPORTS:
Bidders must ensure they are content with the description & condition of any lot before bidding. Further detailed information & images are available upon request. Condition report requests must be received before 4.00pm on the Monday before the auction. Reports are not available on auction mornings or during the auction. Records of all condition report requests are kept & refunds are unavailable if a report has not been recorded as requested. Refunds are also not available for buyer complaints or disappointment upon receipt concerning inherent minor faults caused be age, wear & use minor or unintentional omissions & errors in catalogues.
LOT DESCRIPTIONS & IMAGES:
All items offered for auction are previously owned. Minor faults from age & use, or inherent of manufacture may not be described or shown. Watches, mechanical items etc. may not be in working order. Measurements or weights in a catalogue description are approximate & for guidance only. Photographs must not be relied on for assessing size, condition or colour accuracy.
OUR SHIPPING SERVICES:
Our in-house shipping services are only available for non-fragile items suitable by value, size & weight for Royal Mail/Parcelforce tracked & signed for services. Purchases are shipped as soon as possible strictly in sequence of invoice payment. We can recommend other carriers for items we cannot ship ourselves. We cannot be held responsible for loss or damage during transit by the shipping service provider & buyers themselves will be responsible for any claim from the carrier.
SHIPPING COSTS:
We charge a fee for packing & materials based on complexity & time to pack. Royal Mail postage charges are passed on at cost. Shipping charges are added to a buyer’s invoice. Buyers will receive an email notice of shipping & a tracking number.
PAYMENT FOR PURCHASES: Payment is due on receipt of invoice. Payment can be arranged by telephone using a debit card or by bank transfer. We accept credit cards only up to a limit of £250. We do not to accept credit card payments from overseas buyers. Bank transfers from non-UK accounts are subject to an £8 bank surcharge. Payment by direct bank transfer may be requested for any high value purchases.
REGISTERING TO BID ONLINE:
We reserve the right to decline any registration to bid live online at our auctions via the-saleroom.com. We temporarily decline registrations from new bidders who have not bought from us before & bidders with negative feedback. Their registration may be accepted if we receive bona fide assurances by email. Registrations to bid received once the auction has started may be declined without notice.
COMMISSION BIDS SUBMITTED BY EMAIL OR TELEPHONE:
We offer a free commission bid service with a guarantee that all lots will be bought as cheaply as possible only subject to other bids or reserves if any. Acceptance of such bids will be at our discretion & may only be accepted only with certain guarantees from the bidder. Bids should be submitted early by email or telephone early to guarantee they can be executed. We cannot accept & will not execute any email or telephone commission bids received after 9.30am on auction mornings or once the auction has started. The winning bid of the same amount, placed on the same lot, will be given the bid placed first. The auctioneer cannot be held responsible for not obtaining a lot or missing a commission bid.
BIDDING BY TELEPHONE:
Telephone bidding lines should be booked early as they are limited in number. Lines must be reserved before 5.00pm on the Monday before the auction. Telephone lines cannot be booked on auction morning or once an auction has started. We reserve the right to decline requests for telephone bidding at our discretion. It is the bidder’s responsibility to be contactable at the number supplied when any lot is offered for sale. The auctioneer cannot be held responsible for missed telephone bids when bidders are unobtainable or we are unable to contact them.
