This is a rare, complete volume by the American artist and teacher Guy Williams. Williams lost most of his work in a fire that destroyed his home. Williams was a largely self-taught artist with particularly aptitudes for composition and design. During his career, he was able to befriend many notable art world figures, including Henry Miller and Charles Bukowski. During the 1960s while teaching at the Art Center in La Jolla, California, Williams published tow art books. The first of which offered here was printed by Irwin Hollander before he became a major figure in American printmaking. This particular copy has been dedicated to another important artist, Louise Nevelson.
Condition
Scuffing and light soiling to the wrappers. Front cover beginning to pull away slightly from text block. The first screenprint has stains in the upper corners from the glue used to adhere it to the volume. In overall very good condition.
