7 ½" barrel, 13 ¼" long A clone of the original Colt design, including the firing pin fixed on the hammer. Manufactured in the early 1970's, Hammerli along with Sauer, Italian and Spanish makers, jumped into producing this simple revolver. Offered in both .357 and ,45, the .357 consumed most of the production. Blued barrel and cylinder, color case hardened frame, chromed trigger guard and backstrap with original style one piece grip. Colt was down for almost two years, redesigning and tooling for the third generation Colt SAA. In line with quality of Italian makers. Trigger pull is light, but shows no sign of modification from factory. From forums, the springs of these revolvers go soft with time, which could account for the soft trigger.
