Original vintage Soviet movie poster for an Academy Award winning 1981 film based on a novel by Klaus Mann - Mephisto - directed by Istvan Szabo and starring Klaus Maria Brandauer as Hendrik Hofgen featuring a dynamic graphic design showing the face of a man in shades of red inside a black stripe down the centre with the figures of a German soldier and a young lady on the left and the face of a lady on the right below the credits, the stylised title text diagonally above in red lettering. This film was co-produced by West German, Hungarian and Austrian companies and was the first Hungarian film to win the Best Foreign Language Film award. Good condition, fold, staining, tears, restored tears, creasing. Country of issue: Russia, designer: V. Sachkov, size (cm): 86x54, year of printing: 1982.
