Springfield US Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle, c. 1889. Serial number 463714, .45-70 caliber, round barrel with 'V,' 'P' and eagle head proof marks, vernier rear sight, loading door marked 'U.S./MODEL/1884,' flat lock plate marked 'U.S./SPRINGFIELD' and with a spread wing eagle, walnut stock with 'SWP/1889' cartouche on the left side, steel rammer and sling swivels. Barrel lg. 32, overall lg 52 in. **Antique firearms are sold as collector's items only. We do not accept responsibility as to the shooting safety or reliability of any firearm. Any city or state regulations regarding owning antique firearms are the responsibility of the purchaser.** Condition: Metal toned to mottled brown, stock has scattered dings, dents, scratches and gouges, bright bore with minor pitting near the muzzle an strong rifling, action functions properly.
