An 18-Bore Flintlock Pistol, And Another Of 20-Bore The First By R. Fenton Of London, The Second By Dawes Of Birmingham, Both Early 19th Century Both reconverted from percussion, the first with rebrowned twist sighted barrel, engraved tang, border engraved signed flat bevelled lock decorated with a doe in a landscape on the bow, figured full stock with chequered rounded butt (repaired at the tail of the lock), engraved steel trigger-guard with pineapple finial, set trigger, and later brass-tipped ramrod (some wear overall), Tower private proof marks; the second with rebrowned barrel engraved with a starburst at the breech, the latter with platinum line, engraved tang with a starburst around the back-sight, signed flat bevelled lock engraved en suite on the stepped tail (safety-catch removed), figured full stock (fore-stock with old splits and repairs) with chequered rounded butt, turned ramrod-pipes (trigger-guard replaced), and brass-tipped steel ramrod (some wear overall) (2) 23.5 cm. and 23.7 cm. barrels For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
